English Summer Camps

Class times
Classes are conducted in the morning from Monday to Friday: 4 lessons per day, 20 lessons per week.

Learning methods
Our teachers work with flexible curricula. Thereby they are able to adapt to the specific level and needs of the group and create diversified lessons.

Small classes (Approximately 12 - 13 students) permit a lot of personal attention to each student.
Where appropriate to the class level the teachers will also use media such as short movies, newspaper articles and role-plays.

Learning infrastructure
The study centres in Leysin and modern learning infrastructures. The classrooms have been newly renovated and feature whiteboards as well as multimedia projectors and TV/video. Our learning lounges are the perfect place for homework and group work.

Extra conversation classes
Participants with a minimum of two years experience can additionally take two lessons of conversation class two afternoons per week.

Focused on the spoken language, these extra classes give the opportunity to students to get more comfortable with conversation, diction and courage to speak in public.

Organised in small groups, the extra conversation classes are an excellent complement to the classes given in the morning.

Certificate
At the end of your stay you will be presented with a certificate, which documents the graduation from your SLC course. The certificate will also be a nice memory of your stay in western Switzerland.

Saturday excursion
The Saturday excursions are included in the course fees. Destinations vary depending upon the study centre.

Afternoon excursions
Every week students can participate on a free trip by coach to destinations in the region. There is a large choice of destinations ranging from shopping trips in Vevey and Lausanne to sightseeing trips or a ride in a cable car. On a second afternoon we invite all participants to join us on a fun trip to the Aquaparc or Bellerive Beach in Bouveret.

Fun Planet
Another big hit with our students is "Fun Planet", an entertainment park in nearby Villeneuve. Participants from can use their credits on the "Hot Sports Bonus" to pay for activities like go-carting, bowling, arcade games, simulators, wall climbing and a variety of live entertainment.

Healthy Meals at the summer camp
An active lifestyle demands a healthy, balanced selection of foods.
Our chefs have years of experience in preparing meals for the demands of young people and offer a balanced and diversified daily menu.

After your return from the daily excursions and activities, a hearty dinner will be waiting in the cafeteria.

BBQs
Even more variety is on its way when our chefs organize their garden barbecues: a large choice of grilled meats and sausages and a fresh salad buffet followed by a dessert buffet and fresh fruit.

"Theme nights"
Every now and again our chefs surprise their guests with a "theme night": an Asian buffet, a Mexican dinner, "La Soiree Française", the "Burger & Nuggets" night - you can be sure it's going to be good!


The Cafeterias
The "Lake Side" and "Garden Café" buffet restaurants on the Montreux campus have been renovated in 2006 and are open daily for the warm meals.
In Leysin, all meals will be served on campus in the "Market Place" or "Sitio" . Both cafeterias were renovated and refurbished in 2004 und offer places for 100 guests.If necessary, the attached French restaurant with an additional 60 places can be opened too.

Monday - Friday
Three meals daily will be offered from Monday to Friday: breakfast, lunch and dinner. All meals are offered buffet-style and you are free to refill your plate. Usually there will be a selection of various salads, main courses, desserts, fruit and drinks offered.


Saturday and Sunday
The days to sleep late! Breakfast and lunch will be contracted into one single meal, our popular and abundant brunch buffet.

Participants are accommodated in single or double standard or deluxe rooms. All rooms have shower and toilet and were recently renovated. The double standard room is included in the course fee, for single or deluxe rooms a surcharge applies.

Students are accommodated in single or standard/deluxe double rooms.
Accommodation in a standard double room is included in the cost of the course.
